COVID-19 Vaccine Booster and Flu Vaccine Queries:

Eldon Family Practice will be running designated vaccine clinics for COVID and Flu Vaccines in October - December 2024 - you can book through the Pippo App or by calling the practice.

COVID vaccines can be administered every Wednesday. Flu vaccines can be administered Monday - Thursday.

Flu Vaccine

Flu Vaccine Adults 18 and over

Vaccine type = INFLUVAC TETRA QIV vaccine, injection

• It is recommended for:

  • For all Over-60s

  • For those < 60 with a certain medical condition (see here)

  • For all Pregnant Women (at any gestation)

  • Healthcare workers

  • Those in contact/ living with vulnerable persons

Flu Vaccine for 2 - 17 year olds

• Recommenced for all children aged 2 - 12

• Vaccine type = FLUENZ TETRA LAIV, nasal spray

Flu Vaccine for 6 months - 23 months 

• Recommenced for all children aged 6 months - 23 months if they have a medical condition (see here)

• Vaccine type = INFLUVAC TETRA QIV vaccine, injection

Charge

• It will be free for these groups.

• All other individuals will have to pay for the vaccine.

COVID vaccine

Vaccine type = COMIRNATY JN.1 vaccine

• It is recommended

  • For all Over-60s

  • For those 6months - 59 years with a certain medical condition (see here)

  • For all Pregnant Women

  • Healthcare workers

If eligible, the COVID vaccine and Flu vaccine can be given at the same time.
