Dr. Jane Uygur
MD CCFP MClSc

Dr. Jane was born and educated in Canada.  She completed her medical degree at McMaster University and trained in Family Medicine at McGill University in Montreal. She did some additional training in obstetrics, gynaecology, and geriatrics in New Zealand before returning to Canada to complete a “Care of the Elderly” fellowship in her hometown of Ottawa.   

Dr. Jane has many years of clinical experience working in several different settings, both urban and rural.  She loves working with people of all ages and is skilled at managing medical problems from childhood through to the later years. Her additional training in “Care of the Elderly”  has also provided her with an in-depth understanding of health issues specific to this time of life.

Dr. Jane feels that a good patient-doctor relationship is fundamental to providing excellent healthcare.  This is a key concept that she passes on to the medical students that she teaches at RCSI & TCD. Her interest in this area has lead her to research how physicians can best provide compassionate care to their patients. Dr. Jane is a founding partner of Eldon, since it’s inception in 2019.

Dr. Jane’s Irish husband brought her to Dublin in 2006 and she loves her chosen home.  When she isn’t busy working or spending time with friends and family, she practices yoga and Buddhism, does some rowing and weight training and sings in a choir.

 

Dr. Seamus Duffy

Dr. Seamus is originally from Co. Monaghan and graduated from RCSI in 2005. He completed his GP Training in 2010. He has local and overseas experience having worked in Sydney, Australia for 6 years. He holds additional qualifications in child health, obstetrics & gynaecology, dermatology and medical education.

Dr. Seamus is a passionate generalist and loves the broad spectrum of challenges a day in general practice brings. Area’s of interest include mental health, men’s health and sexual health. He emphases preventive care and health education as paramount to healthy living.

He enjoys the challenge of keeping up to date with the breadth of knowledge required for general practice and above all values the ongoing relationships he develops with his patients.

Dr. Seamus is an experienced medical educator. He is a GP Trainer for the TCD General Practice Training Program with responsibility for the education and guidance of GP Registrar’s in the final stages of their post graduate training. Dr. Seamus is currently an Examiner with the The Irish College of GP’s. Dr. Seamus is a founding partner of Eldon, since it’s inception in 2019.

Outside of work, Dr. Seamus enjoys spending time with friends and family and being beaten at tennis on a regular basis.

 

Dr. Barbara Duffy 

BSc (Hons) MB BCh BAO MRCPI MICGP PGCert (Clin Ed)

Dr. Barbara is originally from Cork and graduated in Medicine from University College Cork (UCC) in 2016. She completed her General Practice training with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in July 2023 and has a special interest in Women’s Health. She completed training in Adult Medicine and membership of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland (RCPI) prior to commencing training in General Practice. Dr. Barbara has worked as a Clinical Lecturer in RCSI and she completed a certificate in Medical Education at the University of Edinburgh. 

Having gained experience in various hospital specialities including Adult Medicine, Medicine for the Elderly, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Addiction Psychiatry, she enjoys the variety of General Practice from the management of chronic diseases to mental health, women’s health and paediatrics. Dr. Barbara enjoys caring for patients of all ages and is focussed on providing compassionate and holistic healthcare.

When not in work she can be found at the park or the beach with her family and dog. She enjoys pilates, painting and gardening.

 

Dr Claire Aitken

MB BCh BAO

Dr Claire, originally from Glasgow, graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2020. She has a wealth of medical experience, including Medicine for the Elderly (St. James Hospital), Obstetrics and Gynecology (National Maternity Hospital) and Pediatrics (Tallaght University Hospital). Dr Claire worked in a busy Emergency department in Adelaide, South Australia for over 1 year, gaining critical experience in management of both pediatric and adult emergencies.

Dr Claire is currently completing her post graduate training in General Practice with Trinity College Dublin, She is excited to integrate her varied experience into General Practice and is passionate about all aspects of General Practice. Particular areas of interest include inclusion health, pediatrics and care of the elderly.

Outside of work, Dr Claire enjoys playing hockey - winner of Leinster Division 9 Cup Championship 2024! She is currently training for her first 10k and otherwise enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
